2 Vintage Bobbins - OOAK S171
2 beautiful old bobbins originating from the now closed SAUQUOIT textile mill in Scranton, N.J.
The Sauquoit Silk Manufacturing Company operated mills in Philadeplphia, Scranton and Bethlehem, PA. In the early 1900s, Pennsylvania mills accounted for about one-third of the silk manufactured in the United States. In 1912, Philadelphia boasted 40 silk factories, including Sauquoit, one of the largest silk mills in Pennsylvania, which had 400 looms and 20,000 spindles.
Formerly these bobbins were used in the production of silks - now they will add instant flair to your studio and home. They are also great to decorate your flat and studio or to store your ribbons, twines and yarns etc.
One-of-a-kind bobbins - you'll receive exactly the two bobbins shown on the pictures.
Beige-brown disks on one side and black disks on other side, both with embossings.
